Overview

The Tactical Assault: Combat Cards™ are a fun and innovative way to fight combined arms battles on the tabletop battlefield. The Combat Cards are designed to bring all of the detailed elements of land warfare – including the fog of war – to the tabletop in a narrative card-driven format that is easy to play yet full of challenges. To be successful you must be creative in your strategies, flexible in your tactics and attentive to the ever changing battlefield.

The key to the Combat Cards is the way in which they simulate every commander’s struggle with maximizing the use of their available assets in the face of the multitude of hazards, delays and other challenges on the battlefield. The Combat Cards integrate all of this in a fast and easy to use system that challenges players to balance the need for careful planning with a willingness to take risks and seize upon sudden opportunities.

The Combat Cards can be utilized for just about any modern historical period, starting with the 20th century, as well as any science fiction setting. They can be used with any scale of miniatures, any sized battlefield and for any size of battle – ranging from the smallest skirmish action all the way up to massive operational level maneuvers.

Info… Bonus Material

We have just posted in the Free Downloads section a full color patterned page that can be used to put a matching backside to either your Combat or Fantasy Cards. It is designed to allow you to just print it on the back of the card sheet (before you cut the cards apart) without worrying about aligning anything to the front of the cards.

The pattern is specifically design to be so visually confusing so as to make reading “marked” cards nearly impossible and yet still look nice (try it and you will see what we mean).

The back side is strictly an option for folks who want to do it (we have had quite a few requests!), and in no way affects the use of either set of cards during a game. It is simply intended to increase the coolness factor of your battles!

Clarification…

Just a quick clarification in the  Combat Cards & Fantasy Cards rules regarding LOS Arcs and their interaction with Bunker & Obstacle units.  The updated wording is on page 5 of both sets of rules…

Info… A New Army & A Bonus

Tuesday, September 13th, 2011

There is a new Army of the Week up this week for the Combat Cards. This time it is a U.S. Army patrol from Vietnam in 1966 – probably heading up Route 13 from Saigon to clear it of any ambushes.

With this Army of the Week everybody gets a little bonus – another peak at a new supplement that we have coming. All we can say about it at this point is that the expansion can be used for both the Combat Cards and the Fantasy Cards, and that it will allow folks to add a bit more detail and color to their units for each game. As you peruse the army, see if you can spot the effects of the expansion on the units.

The expansion is in playtest right now, so it shouldn’t be too long until it is ready for general release. Until then, stayed tuned for more updates!
